young children. Food and lodging were wonderful also. We attended [another Suzuki institute]
last year and much preferred our experience at NESI. The master class was great -- not only did our
daughter get personal instruction, but we got a lot of good teaching ideas from watching the other
students. The repertoire group classes were very creatively taught so that the students had a lot of
fun without really noticing the important music skills they were practicing. Orff, musical history
tours, contradance, rock wall climbing and free time for the Suzuki kids to play together and inspire

"First and foremost was the teaching. The individual daily lessons, the chamber music group and the keyboard harmony/improv class in particular were all a testament to the committment, knowledge, teaching ability and musicality of the teachers. And attached to this were the organization and structure of the classes themselves. Secondly, the fellow musicians! It was simply great to be a part of a community of children and parents dedicated to learning and sharing music together! We made several lovely acquaintenances and hope that they will flower into friendships! The food was EXCELLENT! The daily schedule and activities, although intense, were orchestrated so to allow for plenty of time for practice and fun. The setting was lovely and factored greatly to the overall enjoyment and effectiveness of the week. The individual classrooms, lecture halls and auditorium were all extremely well set up and comfortable. The faculty recital was simply amazing!"
