Housing Options
Families will be housed in historic and modern dormitories. There are a number of singles, doubles, triples, and suites with both private and communal bathrooms. The dorms are not air conditioned, however a fan will be available in each room. Each room will have one, two or three extra long beds, a wardrobe and a desk.
Two sheets, one towel, one blanket, a pillow and pillowcase are supplied with each bed. *NOTE that the mattresses are 'waterproofed' and you may want to bring a mattress pad to make yourself more comfortable. There is wi-fi throughout the campus. The building also has laundry rooms. We will use our discretion in assigning compatible groups to suites.
Dining Options on Campus
All meals, Sunday dinner through Saturday breakfast, are included in the housing fees for resident students and their families.
Colby has a commitment to wellness is paramount in everything we do. This couldn’t be more evident than in our dining and catering services. All food services are managed through Bon Appétit, which has been a pioneer in sustainable food practices. Bon Appétit manages an organic farm on campus, and most menu items are harvested from the garden or created from locally sourced foods. In addition, all of our meals are prepared from scratch in our kitchens to ensure your meals are fresh and delicious.
All meals are served in an air-conditioned dining hall, which offers a wide variety of food stations (with many menu options) and feature all-you-can-eat meal plans. The menus are creative and inspiring and feature both vegetarian and vegan options in the food stations, ensuring that there is something for everyone. Recognizing that everyone has unique tastes and dietary restrictions, Bon Appétit is able to customize many menu items to accommodate our guests. Some of the food stations include an extensive soup and salad bar, a pizza and pasta station, a custom sandwich station, an American grill with burgers, etc., a comfort food station and an international food station.
